WHY SOME LAWYERS EARN MORE THAN YOU DO

Haven’t you wonder at times why some lawyers earn more than you do? Or Do you think it’s because they are smarter than you?  The answer is NOT at ALL. so what could be the reasons?

Let’s look at a scenario that happens to us on a regular basis in respect to laundry or dry cleaning companies:

Some charge much more than others. Prices are all over the place, but it doesn’t affect in any way. If we really take out time and go through the price lists, we could find out that one company’s charge five times higher than another.  Maybe probably not. But certainly, we will get a much cheaper rate or price than what we currently have.

So why would you a lawyer pay more for something that you could easily get for less? Because some companies are well known to you, they have a good reputation and it’s safe patronising them, you don’t need to check them out. You just need to click, order, and it’s done. You may realize that you are paying more but the convenience and peace of mind are worth it. Isn’t that right?

Moreover, this is happening because most lawyers equate a higher price with higher quality. They assume that by paying more they’re getting better values. Meaning, if they pay less, they will get inferior quality. While some lawyers simply don’t even want to take the time to shop around. They’re so busy.

Still, others never considered looking at anything else. They simply order from the company they ordered from the last time. They are a satisfied customer. When they get an email from “their company,” they just order.

You can relate to it, right?

The same things are true for buying legal services. People will pay more to a lawyer who is well known to them or who comes through a referral. They will pay more to lawyers who make it easy and convenient to hire them. They will pay more because they believe they are getting more value than they would get from a “cheaper” lawyer.

Yes, some clients shop prices. You don’t want them. You want the low-hanging fruit, the clients who are willing to pay more for intangibles that are important to them.

And that’s why some attorneys earn more than you do for the same services.

So, the takeaway is to get out of obscurity, brand yourself and your firms in the minds of your target audience in order to have more briefs that will translate to more income.
