Solutions To Back Pain You Won’t Hear From Your Medical Doctor

Have you ever experienced acute back pain? Let me describe it for you…It is pain that comes and goes for a short period of time. Specifically, any pain that is experienced for less than 3 months is called acute back pain. So, in this post we are discussing solutions to  Back Pain You Won’t Hear From Your Medical Doctor. Please pay attention to details.

First on the list is

  1. Getting an orthopedic bed. This is also known as a hard bed. This helps to align the bones and ultimately helps with healing.
  2. Taking a warm bath at the end of the day. This has a soothing effect on the body.
  3. Getting a back massage with some essential oils – This is a great way to relieve tension in the muscles and soothe aching muscles and joints. The process of massage increases the release of endorphins and reduces stress hormones (cortisol).
  4. Doing a few exercises at your desk such as:
  • Moving from side to side while in your chair.
  • Moving forwards and backwards while on your chair.
  • Standing up and walking every one hour.

Note that exercises that are specifically aimed at your core (that’s your chest area and back area) are great at relieving back pain. The first two I mentioned above are directed at your core. They help to ease the tension built in these areas, release endorphins (endorphins help in relieving pain) and reduce pressure on the muscles. All these mechanisms work hand in hand to relieve pain.

You may ask, do I have to exercise every day?

Well…… yes. Just for 5 minutes. You don’t even have to leave your desk to do it. Yes, we all would rather sit at our desk and work, work and work but your body needs some treatment, besides drugs for that nagging pain, that always comes up at your back especially when you’re feeling tired.

Here are few more things you can do:

  1. Drink lots of water– You need at least 3 litres of water – 8 cups daily. Now don’t take it all at once. Preferably take a cup every one hour. This helps to lubricate your joints.
  2. Adopt a healthier diet– Include fruits and vegetables in your diet. One vegetable that has been found to be helpful for joints is celery. Simply boil some warm water and pour over some washed celery. Brew for about 15 mins and drink. Mint is another great vegetable that can be brewed and drank like tea. Pineapple juice is also very good and helpful with joints (It has loads of sugar so after about a week on pineapple juice, please check your sugar level).
  1. Power strips– These are strips that look like large band-aids. You place them in areas where you feel pain. They contain ginseng, a herb that gives some temporary relief.

Pain should not stop you from having a great day at work. The best part is a good number of the solutions suggested above are things you don’t need to purchase from any pharmacy.

Now there is a whole lot more I can share with you but I have to go. Try some of these steps out today and let me know if they helped or did not help.  Leave your comment below.
