Simplicity can be the mother innovation.

1. YOU ARE NOT KEEPING THINGS SIMPLE ENOUGH

The simpler your system and process to understand and execute, the faster you can grow. The fewer moving parts, the fewer decisions to make,  the fewer parties involved, and the fewer things to do to go from point A to point B the faster you can grow.

When your processes and systems are complex, everything will be more difficult, longer and too many things can go wrong.

 

2. YOU ARE NOT SPENDING YOUR TIME ON THE THINGS THAT MATTER MOST

You have options in getting to where you want to go. You have different projects to start, different goals to focus on, different methods to implement, but not all options are the same or created equal. There is a scale of preference.

Using a scale of preference, some things are more important than others.  There are 20% of activities that deliver 80% of your results.

Find out what they are and focus on them.

 

3. YOU ARE NOT TAKING ENOUGH CALCULATED RISK

Growth requires discomfort. It requires trying new ideas, working with new people, and otherwise putting yourself at risk.

If you are not sufficiently doing that, you may put limits on how fast and far you can go.

In any business or professional practice, we are called upon to intelligently manage risk, not eliminating it. To rightly do that, you would need to loosen up.

 

There you have the three reasons you might be limiting your growth, and what to do about them.

One more bonus,

You are not giving things enough time.

You need enough time to try something in order to be certain of what works and what doesn’t work and course correct or make adjustments.

We all often overestimate how much we can accomplish in a few months, and underestimate how much we can accomplish in a few years.

To grow faster, you would probably need to give things more time.
